"Private Line's Sammy Aaltonen opens new studio with young metal drummer Perttu Kurttila


Private Line's frontman Sammy Aaltonen and young drummer Perttu Kurttila (Tracedawn, Lithuria) have established a new recording studio in Helsinki's Vartikylä district, and have named it "East Sound Studios." What then, led them to this?

Quite simply, the duo wants to offer sound services to all bands whose creative output must be recorded, without bankrupting them! Modern digital technology which does not require space for the impossible, but still provides the same quality as the older, more expensive technology, enabling the provision of services at more competitive prices.

And not just for professionals- Private Line's Sammy Aaltonen has long running experience with audio technology, having worked as a successful producer, sound technician and mixer for bands including Hybrid Children, Stereo Junks and Spiritraiser.
Youthful innovation and skills are brought to the table by a young man who's spent most of his youth around demo recordings.Perttu Kurttila, who has already worked with dozens of demo bands is currently producing his own death metal band Lithuria's debut album.

Although it is still in the early stages, it will be interesting to see how far the duo's working relationship will take them. Will the project remain a second class demo workshop, or will East Sound Studios grow to be a hub of the production industry? One thing though is certain: for both men, the project is not just a job, but a way of life.
